SSC introduces Aadhaar-based authentication for recruitment exams

The Personnel Selection Commission (SSC) has decided to implement biometric authentication based on AADHAAR in its next examination exam to verify the identity of the candidates in a basic voluntary, Sunday.

They said that the new measure will enter into force for recruitment tests carried out from next month onards.

The SSC is one of the largest recruitment agencies of the central government with its main mandate to make selections for non -gazetized positions in several central ministries and departments, among others.

“The Commission has decided to implement biometric authentication based on AADHAR in their next exams. Consequently, candidates may authenticate themselves using AADHAAR at the time of the online record, while filling the online application form for exams and when appearing in the test center to take the exams carried out by the May 2025 onards commission.”

This Aadhaar authentication is voluntary and is intended as a measure to promote the ease of cheating with the exam process, said the SSC.

Aadhaar is a number of 12 digits issued by the Indian Unique Identification Authority (UIDAI) to all eligible citizens about the basic data of biometric and demographic data.

The officials said that AADHAR headquarters will also help to ensure that aspiring government jobs do not pretend their identity or use other fraudulent means to take recruitment exams carried out by the Commission.

In a notification issue on September 12 of last year, the Ministry of Personnel of the Union had said that the SSC can perform AADHAR’s authentication voluntarily.

The SSC will adhere to all the relevant provisions of the Aadhaar Law (directed delivery of financial subsidies and other subsidies, benefits and services), 2016, “the rules and regulations made by virtue of it, and the instructions issued by the ‘ITS ITIS ITIS ITIS ITIS of India'”.

The Commission carries out seven open competitive examination of All India Open, including the combined postgraduate level (CGLE) Beendes Exams three limited departmental competitive exams.

The Ministry of Personnel had issued an identical notification on August 28 last year, the first for any recruitment agency, to approve AADHAR -based authentication by the Public Service Commission of the Union (UPSC).

Candidates Lakhs appears in the government recruitment tests carried out throughout the country by the SSC and the UPSC.

Last year he had also decided to use facial recognition and CCTV surveillance systems based on artificial intelligence to avoid traps and imperonation in his various tests.
