The host of “Real Time”, Bill Maher, Slipe to President Donald Trump about his “completely backwards” approach to China on Friday as wages of his global tariff war, saying that he is once again supporting a recession to reverse the course.
“I feel he chose a fight with the wrong thug,” Maher said.
The liberal comedian recalled the violent reaction he received in 2019 from the conservatives when he said he was supporting a recession to damage Trump’s re -election possibilities the following year.
“They really hated me for that,” said Maher. “It was, like the greatest monster in history.” This man is supporting a recession. “And I was saying that it is the only way Trump will be unpopular.”

“And, of course, I’m just rooting. I can’t make it really happen. They have to understand that. I’m not a genius, but I’m supporting one again,” he told the panel.

He pointed out that the Trump conservative reaction has resorted to the last week of those who do not support their tariff plans in part because it is “sinking the economy”, but added that it is a form of corruption. “
“Because we have already so in when you have tariffs, then you can remove them,” Maher continued, pointing out his recent exception for phones and computers. “Then, in other words, you can reward people. I mean, Trump is excellent in a couple of things. One: finding ways of rewarding and punishing people. And two: finding a way to bribe. Those are two or their greatest skills.”

“I think that is completely a- The other way around,” Maher reacted. “Look, I’m always for the United States … I want us to win, but this is just the reality of what China is. Maher also pointed out how the United States depends almost completely on the supply of Rare Minerals of China necessary for almost all modern technology.
“We do not do any of this here, exception we have a place here in California, Mountain Pass. They have a strange mine of land there. It takes from the ground in a year what China does in one day,” said Maher.
