The Department of Science and Technology has announced a program, ‘Solutions of electric vehicles led by startups (evolutions)’, to accelerate the manufacture of EV components in the country.
The program is a jersey to help new companies selected in pilot demonstration, tests, component validation and establish industry connects for the rapid translation of EV solutions to the market. Startups in the EV Domain have the opportunity to translate their prototypes (concept test) into viable commercial products by establishing a robust supply chain within the country.
“Currently, the industry depends very well on imported materials, components/ systems due to the lack of domestic raw material supply chain and a manufacturing base in the country. To address these challenges, many new innovative companies have gear gear gear gear gears.
The program aims to accelerate the transition from EV technologies from the concept/prototype test (TRL 3-4) to commercial viable products (TRL 6-8) demonstrating prototypes in real world environments. It covers components for two, three and four wheels (including L5, E-Rickshaw and E-Cart), buses and and public load infrastructure of EV.
Startups that have demonstrated indigenous capacity in the development of materials, internal components/ subsystems within the country (reaching TRL 3-4) and meet specific standards/ guidelines, will obtain a subsidy of ₹ 50 LAKH, inclums. 30 Lakh.
