El Salvador’s Bukele suggests prisoner swap for Venezuelans deported by US | Migration News

The president of El Salvador says he is willing to repatriate deportees in exchange for the liberation of “political prisoners.”

The president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, has proposed an exchange of prisoners that would see Venezuelans deported from the United States to their country exchanged for “political prisoners” in Venezuela.

In the pointed comments addressed to the Venezuelan president, Nicolás Maduro, on Sunday, Bukele suggested that countries reach a “humanitarian agreement” in the midst of Caracas’ demands for the repatriation of Venezuelan sports.

Bukele said he would be willing to repatriate 252 Venezuelans in a saving prison of maximum security in exchange for “an identical number of thousands of political prisoners who possess.”

“Unlike our detainees, many of whom have committed murder, others have committed violation, and some have just been arrested several times before Bee Deportera, their political prisoners have not committed any crime. The only raised life was erada, bechoned, beconed, beconed, beconed, beconed, becisoneed, becisoned, becisoned, beconed, beconed, because Scholarship

Bukele went on to enumerate several people who are in Venezuelan prisons, including Rafael Tudares, son -in -law of former exiled Venezuelan presidential candidate Edmundo González and Corina Parisca, the mother of the opposition Maria.

Venezuelan Attorney General Tarek William Saab described Bukele’s proposal as “cynical” and asked his government to provide a complete list of “hostages” together with the “life test and a medical report” for each detainee.

The administration of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, has paid around $ 6 million to the Bukele government to stop the defendants of Venezuelan gangs at the Maximum Security Terrorism Confinement Center of El Salvador.

The Trump Administration has deported at least 261 migrants accused of belonging to the La Aragua and other gangs by invoking the controversial law of enemies, a law of war of the 18th century that grants President authority to deport citizen of enemies.

American officials have published few evidence to support their claims that sports are members of criminal gangs, and media reports based on publicly avoidable information have that only a small minority has a criminal record.

Maduro accused Bukele of being an accomplice of “kidnapping” and asked the deportees to be repatriated to Venezuela.

On Saturday, the United States Supreme Court ordered a temporary detention of deportations that migrants were heroes in Texas “to the additional order of this court.”

Judgment 7-2 occurred after the American Union of Civil Liberties presented an emergency request asking the Court that prevents the Trump administration from proceeding with what they said they were imminent plans to restart deportations under the alien enemies law.

The Supreme Court ruled earlier this month that the Trump administration could not continue deportations without giving migrants the opportunity to challenge their elimination in court.
