IIT-Madras Incubation Cell incubates over 100 deep tech start-ups in FY25

The Indian Institute of Madras Technology (Iit-Madras) announced on Saturday that its incubation cell, for the first time, has incubated 104 new deep technology companies in a financial year in 2024-25. This number was in 61 new companies in 2023-24.

The achievement was through the IITM ICM collaboration efforts along with its specific incubators of the Pravartak sector, Bioinubator, Htic Medtech, RTBI and the Innovation E School and Entrance, IIT-M, the institute said. About 50 percent of these 104 new companies were founded by faculty, personal, students and alumni or iit-madras, which reflects a strong culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in the institute.

Professor V Kamakoti, director of Iit Madras, said that the fact that new thesis companies are of deep nature in the nature of robotics, space technology, UAV, biotechnology, assistance technology and others, made it a larger feat. “We want to achieve” Startup Shatam “and incubar 100 new companies every year. In this way, I am sure that only one opi every week is possible, so we dream of achieving it,” he said. He added that the current generation has ambitions beyond getting work and only 60 percent of a class generally seeks jobs with others focused on business spirit and other activities.

Dr. Tamaswati Ghosh, CEO of Iitm Incubation Cell, said the achievement reflects the dedication of the IC team and the effectiveness of its strategic associations. “This milestone shows the maturity of the Iitm ecosystem, which provides the beginning of deep technology for trust and resources to build, climb and prosper,” he added. Ghosh said they also welcome new regions such as East Africa, Middle East and Europe, hereinafter.

Systematic mechanisms

In the last 12 years, Iitmic has incubated a total of 457 new deep technology companies, collectively valued at more than ₹ 50,000 million rupees (based on VCS investments), with two unicorns and a company in the forgiveness of an OPI.

The notable success stories of the incubator include Ather Energy, Unifore, Medibuddy, Hyperverge, Stellappps (Moopay), Plans, Agnikul, Guvi, Detect, Galaxeye and more. In addition, the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, which houses the Iitm Nirmaan, houses 129 teams prior to the advantage they actively work in deep technology issues.
