The group made a campaign mainly for the United Kingdom to end the extraction of oil and gas by 2030.
The British Environmental Activist Just Stop Oil has made its final demonstration in London, ending three years of high -profile climatic acrobatics while they moved their focus on civil disobedience.
On Saturday, several hundred followers walked peacefully through the center of the capital of the United Kingdom, from Parliament to the headquarters of the giant oil and gas peel, where they covered their high -view orange vests.
The group campaigned mainly for the United Kingdom to end the extraction of oil and gas by 2030 and had become one of the best known protest sentences in the country.
In March, the group announced that it would stop their protests that accompany the headline, arguing that it had achieved its initial objective of stopping the United Kingdom that approaches new oil and gas projects.
More than 3,000 Petroleum protesters Just Stop have been arrested since it was founded in 2022 and 11 or they are currently in jail, including the 58 -year -old co -founder Roger Hallam. Five more will be sentenced in May.
The acrobatics by their activists included attacking the GOGH Van Gogh Sunflowers painting with tomato soup and attacking the historical historical Stonehenge with powdered orange paint.
They also interrupted theater and sports events, including tennis games in Wimbledon.
Over the years, the actions have caused the conviction of politicians, police and some sections of the public.
But the group claimed a victory after the United Kingdom Labor Government arrested new oil and gas exploration licenses in the North Sea.
However, childbirth has been distanced from just stopping oil. Prime Minister Keir Starmer criticized his actions and said that protesters should face all the force of the law.
Mel Carrington, a spokesman for the protest group, said that although his actions had been “very effective to get the attention of the press”, the re -election of climate change, the skeptic of Donald Trump, as president had hindered his work.
“Repression makes it more difficult to mobilize, and the external environment has changed,” AFP told the AFP news agency.
Just Stop Oil has been shy about his future strategy, but he has said that “he will continue to tell the truth in court, speak for our political prisoners and call the oppressive antiprotesta laws of the United Kingdom.”
“In the background, we are working with others [similar] Groups … to develop a strategy for what comes next, “Carrington said.
