Government’s telecommunications reforms have led to an unfeasible situation with Airtel Airmitus that Agrio elves become equity. The analysts said that if the government recognizes that it will open the floods even more so that other players such as Reliance Jio obtain the same demand in the future.

Although the 2021 telecommunications reform policy allows the responsibility of interest related to the spectrum and the agen of Capital through capital, the Government has now allowed telecommunications operators to opt for the conversion of a main uniform amount for Spectrum 2021.

Government sources said that the conversion of spectrum and AGU quotas was included in the 2021 reform package. However, conversion is not automatic and a telecommunications operator must apply and go through a scrutiny process.

“It must be evaluated and analyzed before making any final decision,” said the source.

Arettel has a total or approximately ₹ 93,000 or installments, including ₹ 41,000 million rupees in agra and ₹ 52,000 million rupees in spectrum installments.

The company managed by Sunil Mittal recently sought the conversion of around ₹ 41,000 million rupees, including the responsibility of interest, in capital in line with the relief granted to the idea Vodafone indebted by the Government.

Sources in the Telecommunications Department (DOT) said that the conversion of ₹ 41000-Rore or agricultural groups in the heritage will go through several rounds of scrutiny.

If Airtel’s application is approved, the government could obtain significant participation in the company, which leads to a situation in which it becomes an interested party in multiple telecommunications operators. The government can consider the broader implications of such movement in financial stability and competitive panorama of the telecommunications industry.

“These think that they should be considered very careful. The implications of the policy are great and it is not clear what the future course will be,” the sources said.

The process was activated in March when the government relieved Vodafone’s idea by converting its fees worth ₹ 53000 million rupees in capital owned in the company. Through this, the Government increased its participation in the idea of Vodafone to 48.99 percent of 22.6 percent before, by converting fees worth ₹ 36,950 million rupees.

Previously, the government had turned the company’s debt of approximately ₹ 16,130 million rupees, which include interests derived from the postponement of Ag and Spectrum quotas, in capital in February 2023.

Meanwhile, Airtel has cleaned all its quotas for the spectrum it bought before the auction 2021. Spectrum has bought worth ₹ 68,598 million rupees in auctions that were carried out in 2021, 2022 and 2024, and the quotas are eligible for conversion into equity.

Airstel’s shares closed to ₹ 1.815.60 each in the EEB on Friday, 1.58 percent less than the previous closure.
