Jay Leno is looking back in the infamous incident that caused her long dispute with Jimmy Kimmel.

While appearing in “The Jay Leno Show” in 2010, Kimmel repeatedly shoots Leno on the notorious debacle of “Tonight Show” that involves Conan O’Brien.

In Wednesday’s episode or “in depth with Graham Bensinger,” Leno, 64, shared his regrets for the meeting in the camera with Kimmel, 57, and revealed that he decided not to cut the feeders of the final transmission.

“When Kimmel came to my program and humiliated me in my own program, I let it happen. I did not edit it,” Leno recalled.

“Why not?” Bensinger, 38, asked.

“Because it happened,” Leno explained. “It’s real, it happened. It’s my mistake. This is how you learn.”

When Bensinger questioned whether Leno’s decision was a “mistake” because the interaction was “good television”, the comedian said he did not see him since that light.

“It’s not a good television for me because everything that continues to this day begins,” he said. “But it’s fine, it’s fine. It’s a comic, you do what you have to do. I mean, I would have done it, but that’s fine. That’s right. It’s what it is.”

The 2010 incident with Leno and Kimmel VO was sent from a widely publicized conflict about the succession plan for the successful NBC night program “The Tonight Show”.

In 2009, Leno agreed to resign as a presenter of “The Tonight Show” so that O’Brien could take. In return, Leno, since his was the program of interviews during the star schedule, “The Jay Leno Show”.

When both programs had problems in the classifications, NBC proposes to move Leno Night’s program and push “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien” to a later time interval. O’Brien refuted and left the network while Leno again organized “The Tonight Show”.

The fiasco resulted in an important reaction against Leno and NBC. Kimmel, who was a supporter of O’Brien, was news for his appearance in the Leno interview program a year later, which called the host of his role in the controversy.

When Leno asked Kimmel about the best joke he had thrown, Kimmel joked: “I told a boy that in five years I will give you my program, and then, when the five years arrived, I will cool it, and there I have almost made it almost.”

Earlier this week, Kimmel also went to his dispute with Leno during an episode or “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

On Wednesday, the comedian joked with the guest Ben Affleck while the actor walked to the stage, saying: “You have that look on your face that sometimes you have when you look, where are you like,” What will something do? “

“I’m not going to do anything,” Affleck said before adding, “it won’t be like when I come to your home for Christmas, and on the way by and then Jay Leno walks just after me and then we are yes, ‘oh,’ oh, ‘oh, yes,’ oh, yes, ‘oh yes,’ oh yes, making me, ‘oh, oh, yes, something with the other.”

“You believe it or not, I don’t follow the nuances of your gossip history,” Affleck told him.

“No, you just dropped a grenade just on us,” Kimmel joked.

Affleck recalled having witnessed the awkward exchange of the couple, remembering: “It was like,” this is quite painful. What is strange? Is it something strange? Have your legs insulted for decades? “

While the two comedians have publicly changed BARS approximately the years since the 2010 incident, Kimmel revealed in 2017 that they had repaired their crack.

Looking back, Kimmel said the rivalry was rooted in his love for David Letterman. Letterman expected it to organize “The Tonight Show” after Johnny Carson’s departure in 1993, but left NBC for CBS when Leno was used for the role.

“You have to remember how much I love David Letterman. When all that happened, he was just a fan, reading Bill Carter [1994’s The Late Shift: Letterman, Leno, and the Network Battle for the Night.] And there was a villain and a hero, and Dave was the hero and Jay was the villain. I started with a negative feeling about it. Sometimes I insert myself in situations where I have no business in which they insert me. “

However, Kimmel said he had softened his position on Leno after the children’s phone call.

“You can’t argue with [Leno’s] Success and its longevity. I will say that when I was in high school and at the university, he was one of my favorite comics of all time. “
