Lately, I have seen an increase in the complications of aesthetic implant in my practice. Some are referred to other doctors, while others are my own cases, such as a recent follow -up of 7 years after an immediate placement of implants. This case highlights the importance of clean management of soft tissues in the aesthetic zone.
In the placement of imedized implants, techniques such as the plug shield and connective tissue graft are now considered essential. These apply in this case, which leads to the recession of soft tissues despite the oral bone plate that remains intact. Soft tissue management is crucial, since the recession can occur even with stable bone structures.
The treatment approach for such complications depends on the 3D position of the implant and generally implies graft of autogenous soft tissues. These procedures are vital to restore the health and aesthetics of the tissue.
Later this year, we will offer a specialized course of complications of surgical implants in CDOC, where we will cover soft tissue graft, plug shield techniques and strategies to handle complications in the aesthetic zone. This practical course in person will equip doctors with the latest techniques to prevent and address complications.
