2025 NCAA women’s lacrosse tournament: Top players, how to watch

The Lacrosse tournament of 2025 NCAA Ladies starts this weekend, with games that will be started on Friday on sites on campus. The field of 29 teams has 15 automatic bids and 14 selections in large countries.

Boston College is the ruling champions of the sport and the Eagles will try to become the first team that repeats as national title holders for the Cruple time in a decade. Get in the way of how they are the unbeaten North Carolina Tar Heels, which BC has already surpassed twice this season.

The rest of the field includes talented players, interesting storylines and a handful of teams with real opportunities to contain a place in the last four. Let’s break everything down about the tournament this season.

How does the Lacrosse Tournament format of the NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Tournament work?

Of the 29 teams that make the field, the top three seeds receive the first round Byes. This year these are number 1 general Seed North Carolina, reigning Champs Boston College and third placed northwest, which won the tournament in 2023.

The top eight seeds in the field get hosting rights during the opening weekend of the tournament. The rest of the best seeds are: No. 4 Florida, no. 5 Virginia, no. 6 Maryland, no. 7 Yale and no. 8 Johns Hopkins. Yes – Johns Hopkins plays a lot of his Oher -Sports in Division III, but compets in Division I in Lacrosse for men and women.

The first round matches will take place on Friday and the winners of those competitions in the pods on the campus will finish the face on Sunday in the second round. Of the eight teams that left in the quarterfinals, the highte seed will be hosted in every matchup on 15 May, with the winners moving the end of four in Foxborough, Gillette Stadium of Massachusetts.

The national semi -finals will take place on May 23, with the champion competition before 25 May.

How to view the Lacrosse Tournament of the NCAA ladies

Games in the first and second round are on ESPN+. The quarterfinals and semi -finals will be on ESPNU and the national champion match will be broadcast on May 12 on May 12 on the afternoon.

Whho is the favorite in the Lacrosse tournament of 2025 ADA Ladies?

It is the North Carolina Tar Heels, who are a perfect 18-0 and have 11 victories over nationally arranged opponents, including two Aston Boston College and one against Northwestern. Chloe is the first first-year student ever a finalist for the Tewaraton-Akin of the Heisman for Lacrosse for Women, while Ashley Nine Assists is removed from owning the NCAA career record of the NCAA.

In the defensive end, UNC’s second -year goalkeeper Betty Nelson has the fourth best Save Percance in the country at 50.5.

North Carolina will play the winner of Clemson vs. Navy. The Tigers – which is only three years old – is in the NCAA tournament for the first time, while Navy is in the field for the first time since 2019 under Hall of Fame coach Cindy Tony.

To which other players are it worth seeing?

Rachel Clark van Boston College is the leading goal scorer of the country with 91 this season, while Madison Taylor van Northwestern is just behind her with 89 goals. Taylor also has 32 free position goals this season, which leads the country.

Adding for Boston College is goalkeeper Shea Dolce a Tewaraton finalist. She was named keeper of the year in the promotion and has the best Save Percance of the nation at 55.7.

Georgia Latch, Senior Attack in Loyola Maryland, is also an attacking force, because in the total number of points in the total number of points with 69 assists and 53 goals it is. The Grayhousings open against Stony Brook on Friday and the winner will be confronted with Boston College.

Madison Epke by James Madison is the best in the country at Draw Controls and wins 12.61 per match and a total of 227 in the season. JMU will open the tournament against Duke on Friday.
