Injury likely to delay Jakob Ingebrigtsen’s season opener

Achilles’ problem means that the 5000m Olympic champion of Norway is not risking when it comes to the debut of 2025 summer races

Jakob Ignitions could have to delay the start of his outdoor season and Miss Home Diamond League in Oslo on June 12 due to an Achilles injury.

The 5000m Olympic champion was due to the 5000m race in Oslo with a possible attack against the 12: 35.36 world record by Joshua Cheptegei, but the Norwegian station NRK reports that the injury in its summer, Summeror Victor World and the Indoor European Championship in Nanjing and Apeldoorn.

It has a history of Achilles’ problems, since the interior season in 2024 was lost due to an injury in this area.

This week is also the conclusion of the trial where his father, Gjart Ignitions, is accused of abusing Jakob and his sister.
