Thai officials said Wednesday that they evaluated 238 tons of illegally imported Electronic waste From the United States in the port of Bangkok, one of the largest lots they have found this year.

Theajj said that Thai authorities seek to press charges, including the falsely imported statement of imported goods, the illegal import of electronic waste and planning to re -export waste back to their country of origin.

Thailand approved a prohibition of the importation of a variety of electronic waste products in 2020. The cabinet in February approved an expanded list of prohibited waste.

Sunthron Kewsawang, deputy general director of the Department of Industrial Works, said that officials suspended at least two factories in the province of Samut Sakhon, which limits Bangkok, are involved in the importation of waste.
