A forensic scientist of the Massachusetts State Police Crimes Laboratory revealed during the Karen Reader trial that the evidence collected in the solo red glasses never proved in the death of her Boston Boston boyfriend, John O’Keefe.

Wednesday testimony came from O

Maureen Hartnett, from the Massachusetts State Police Crime Laboratory, testified that he found broken glass, scratches and at least one abonsors on the back of the Read vehicle, as well as blood and debris recovered from O’Kefe’s clothes.

He also rubbed the evidence that the Canton police collected in red solo cups, although he testified that he had never tried. As a result, he could not only identify him as blood.

He collected samples for additional tests, but testified that he did not have a test performance. That was another responsibility.

He also testified that he could not rule out that none of the damage to the READ SUV occurred before January 29, 2022, the morning O’Keefe died.

The red substance, described as “brown red” for when he saw it, was collected by the Canton Police of the front garden in 34 Fairview Road under a snow powder in the place where the investigators believed that O’Kefe had been found.

“I think it tests it anyway, even if there is no chain of custody, only to contextualize the case,” said Paul Mauro, a retired investigator from the New York Police who follows the case. “If there was a fight inside the house, presumable O’Keef would defend. If the blood in the snow returned to one of the Alberts or Higgins, if you are the defense, you are making setback.”

However, if swabs still exist, the defense could ask them to be proven today, he said.

But the police could also have done a better job collecting and documenting evidence, especially after a series of cases in which the officers had to defend themselves from making unusual decisions, including the one that completes the level of a leaf of the evidence bag and sending a grocery gay edible blower without sending anyone to the police station to obtain the containers of collection of adequate tests.

Other awkward moments included an evidence bag with the incorrect number of broken rear light fragments and a delay of a letter after a sergeant from the state police were asked to open a failed evidence bag with one of the victim’s sports shoes inside.

“You don’t have to do homicide research daily to know that if you collect a lot of things from a crime scene, preserve it and make sure it has been recorded as evidence so you can retain it later, since they did not say he said it is Goring.”

“If they knew and Sough and worried enough to take samples of the scene, however imperfect they did … and put each cup in a separate stop and store, he initialized it, closed it as well as possible.

Defensor lawyer Robert Alessi also asked Hartnett about two photos that they intended to show the same sample of solitary hair recovered from the back of the SUV.

“You could argue that the snow sealed it there,” Mauro said.

Reading faces second -degree murder charges, homicide for drunk driving and fleeing a fatal accident in O’Kefe’s death.

Prosecutors claim that she revoked her Lexus SUV in O’Keefe and left him to die on the floor during a snowstorm.

She declared herself innocent of all the charges, and her lawyers say she never hit O’Keefe.
