A family from California is demanding a funeral home after he put the wrong man in the coffin and wore him with his loved one’s clothes, and the workers even tried to say that the family was when facing the error.

Amentha Hunt says he arrived at Harrison-Doss Mortuary in Compton to prepare his uncle, Otis Adkinson, 80, for burial when he noticed that another man was inside the coffin, according to Kcal.

“It shouldn’t have happened,” Hunt told The Outlet. “I didn’t make arrangements there to see the wrong body.”

“He was a guy who got used there in my uncle’s suit, but he wasn’t my uncle,” he added. “I just kept looking at him. I am like,” I couldn’t have such dark ones. “

Hunt said he called the issue to the attention of a Moreno worker, but the worker initially dismissed her concerns and said she was her uncle inside the coffin.

“That is not my uncle,” said Hunt. “My uncle did not have such dark Gothic … I showed a photo and she said:” Yes, you are right, give us a minute. “

Hunt said she and her family were waiting for three hours while the morgue arranged the confusion before they could bury their uncle. It is not clear whose body was in the coffin dressed in his uncle’s suit.

“To enter and see the wrong body, and for the morgue to deny that it is the wrong body, we believe that it is really a basic standard of attention in which they were wrong,” said Hunt’s lawyer, Elvis Tran, Kcal. “They really need to improve their ways so that they don’t do this to another family.”

The funeral home has denied the accusations and prepares to present a letter of cessation and withdrawal against Hunt.

Hunt said he is still traumatized to see someone else in the suit he chose for his uncle.

“He’s suffering,” he said. “To see the wrong body, I can still see that guy.”

Adkinson, a Memphis native, died on February 28. It was described by his family as a “good country boy” who enjoys fishing, barbecues, dancing and looking at the Los Angeles Lakers, according to his obitarian.
