Janelle Story, 35, told Buzzfeed News that he was going to drag a bar when he met the crowds on the street. At 8:30 pm, Story, an American who lives in Seoul, said the area was already full of people. “I just left the subway station,” he said through Twitter messages the morning of Sunday. “He took 20 minutes out of the station.”
While moving from one bar to another near the Hamilton hotel, he said that the crowds were well full together, but nothing at that time seemed to be dangerous.
“I just thought I was uncomfortable, nobody was” out of control, “he said. “We all moved very slowly and ordered.”
But then, around 10:30 pm, Story said he began to panic for the situation while capturing images of the scene, which he published on Twitter.
