The Chicago Cubs receive praise on how the organization replied to a Gansnest in a juniper presented in the iconic grandstands on Wigley Field.
The human rights group people for the ethical treatment of animals says it sends a compassionate Action Award – a framed certificate and vegan chocolates – to the team.
The Cubs had their home opener and photos on social media last week showed a goose that nested in a conter next to the seats under the scoreboard in midfield. Several rows of the upper grandstands were blocked on Sunday, while two Canada Gee stood in a rof in the neighborhood.
A spokeswoman for the team said that the nesting goose flew out of the stands on Sunday and did not return. The area was reopened on Monday for fans.
Peta praised the cubs for giving the goose space and “acting quickly” when they saw an animal in need.
