Meta adds former Trump advisor to its board

Goal On Friday, he announced that he was expanding his board of directors with two new members, including Dina Powell McCormick, part of President Donald Trump’s first administration.

Powell McCormick served as Trump National Security Advisor from 2017 to 2018. She is also married to Sen. Dave McCormick, a Republican of Pennsylvania who assumed the position in January.

“He is a good man,” Trump said about McCormick in a support last year, according to Associated Press. Powell McCormick and her husband were photographed in March with Trump and Tesla The CEO Elon Musk, a current advisor to the president, in a wrestling championship match in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

In addition, Powell McCormick was Undersecretary of State under Condolezza Rice in the administration of President George W. Bush.

Besids his political formation, Powell McCormick is vice president, president and head of global client services at BDT & MSD Partners. That company was founded in 2023 when the Merchant BDT bank was combined with Michael Dell’s MSD investment signature. Powell McCormick arrived at the company after 16 years at Goldman SachsWhere she had a partner on her leg.

Their appointment represents another sign of the finish line with the Republicans after Trump’s return to the White House.

In January, the company announced a change of fact verification and said it was bringing Trump’s friend, Dana White, CEO of Ultimate Fighting Championship, to the board. The changes follow Trump calling the company behind Facebook and Instagram “The Enemy of the People” in CNBC last year.

Also on Friday, Meta said that Patrick Collison, co -founder and CEO of Startup Stripe de Payments, was also chosen for the Board. Stripe was valued at $ 65 billion in a tender sacrifice last year.

“Patrick and Dina contribute a lot of experience supporting companies and businessmen to our Board,” said Meta Mark Zuckerberg’s co -founder and CEO in a statement.

Zuckerberg visited the White House last week, after attending Trump’s inauguration in Washington in January. Political reported last week that the Meta CEO paid $ 23 million in cash for a mansion in the capital of the nation.

Powell McCormick and the Collison official became directors on April 15, Meta said.
