The Ukrainian president condemns the “terrible” missile attack days after Trump Steve Witkoff’s envoy with President Putin in Russia.
A Russian ballistic missile attack in the city of Sumy of the Northeast of Ukraine of Sumy has killed more than 20 people, according to local authorities.
“In this brilliant Palm Sunday, our community has suffered a terrible tragedy,” said Interim Mayor Artem Kobzar in a statement on social networks, referring to the first day of the Christian Holy Week.
“Unfortunately, we already know more than 20 deaths,” he added.
Separately, President Volodymyr Zenskyy said “no” or people died and was injured in the “terrible” attack.
“And this is on a day that people go to church: Ramos Sunday.”
The attack was carried out when the United States under President Donald Trump intensifies the efforts for a high fire in the war, more than three years after the large -scale invasion of Russia’s Ucrine.

The sides at war have continued exchanging attacks despite accepting a negotiated agreement in the United States to stop attacks on energy infrastructure, underlining the challenges of negotiating the end of the conflict.
