Rory McIlroy has taken the last big monkey off his back. De Noord -Ier won the 89th Masters on Sunday, completed the career Grand Slam and won his fifth major championship.
While McIlroy entered the last round of Sunday with a two -strap lead, his victory was not easy. I had to play play-off to get his first green jacket, 3-over in the last eight holes for the play-off. Only needed to shoot par on the 18th hole to win the Masters, McIlroy’s second shot landed in the bunker. He was Uble to get within reach for a putt that Wouled won him the masters on the 18th hole, but his shot for couple just missed.
While McIlroy stuged, Justin Rose stopped the leaderboard. After the day bound for the sixth and seven strokes behind McIlroy, Rose Birdied on six of his last eight holes, forcing the Cruple Playoff since 2017.
McIlroy, however, only needed one hole in the play -off to get his first green jacket. On the 18th hole, McIlroy’s second shot played just a few feet from the hole. After’s putt for Birdie just misled, McIlroy was able to win the victory by sinking his Birdie Putt.
This is a developing story.
