Former Nascar star Tony Stewart won the NHRA 4-wide nationals on Sunday for his first victory of the top fuel.
The 53-year-old Stewart had a winning point of 3,870 seconds at 317.42 mph at the strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He stopped Anthron Brown at the finish and also beat Justin Ashley and Jasmine Salinas in the final.
“You will certainly appreciate it more if you struggle the way we did,” said Stewart. “All the credit goes to this team. I am so plenty of my boys. There is so mandous great partners here and I have a great team there.
Stewart is a triple Cup Series champion with 49 career overlines in the top division of the sport. He was named one of Nascar’s 75 biggest divers of all time.
