U.S. pastor Josh Sullivan, abducted at gunpoint in South Africa, rescued in shootout, authorities say

Josh Sullivan, an American shepherd Kidnapped at gunpoint while delivered a sermon in his church in South Africa On Thursday night he has been rescued in a shooting that left three dead, according to the authorities.

According to a statement issued by the “Hawks”, a specialized police unit that investigates serious crimes, Sullivan, 45, was kidnapped in the Baptist Church Fellowship in the municipality of Motherwell out of Hetide in Gqeberha and was.

The Hawks say that numerous police agencies that acted on advice went to the house and saw a vehicle. The suspects in the vehicle tried to flee, opening fire against the officers as they did and “the officers responded with tactical precision, which led to a high intensity shooting” in which the three suspects were killed.

Sullivan was found in the “miraculously unharmed” vehicle, says the statement, and adds that “it was immediately evaluated by medical staff and is currently in excellent condition.”
