Emmvee, a solar manufacturing sector, has opened its new installation in Sulibele, near Bangalore International Airport in Karnataka. With this expansion, the company has added 2.0 GWP or module capacity, which takes its total to approximately 6.6 GWP in photovoltaic modules and 2.5 GWP in solar cells.
Speaking about the inauguration, DV Manjunatha, president and managing director, said: “The new manufacturing unit covers almost 4 LKH of square feet and will accommodate more than 500 new team members, including basic engineering professionals, senior management, factory operations and administrative staff.
Emmvee currently has a workforce of 2,000, and the new hiring will be added to their strength.
Mr. Suhas Donthi, President and CEO of Emmvee, he added, “The new installation will strengthen our production capacity, which will allow us to better serve our customers. We are not simply increasing capacity, but also improving our technological advances and commercial operations. The unit is designed with advanced automation, multiple quality control level and is versatile to produce different sizes and formats of modules. “
Previously, the company had announced its plans to invest ₹ 15,000 million rupees in Karnataka gradually to establish manufacturing. In the first phase, it will invest ₹ 5,000 million rupees to establish an installation with an energy generation capacity of 5 GW, creating 10,000 jobs. Emmvee Energy has sought 120 acres of land in the Ti investment region of Bengaluru (IIR) for the project, and the Government will facilitate the application after due consideration.
