Now an NHRA Top Fuel winner, Tony Stewart dishes on what is — and isn’t — in his future

Tony Stewart still does not know how much longer he will compete in his replacement role for his wife, Leah Pruett, in her NHRA Top Fuel Dragster.

What he does know is, when he finally has the department, he will have at least one win over his summary.

The triple Cup champion hopes that he has more victories, but his Winy in Las Vegas was one for the history books. It was also one that founded the frustration of the subject, because I replaced Leah at the beginning of last season when they decided to found a family.

Their baby boy, Dominic, was born in November and was with them on Sunday for the victory strip photos.

“When does she intend to get back in the car?” But I can tell you what I made souto that was her, was every moment she decides that she is ready to get back in the car, I’ll get out.

“If that is in the middle season, it is the mid -season.”

Pruett is planning to test this summer to see how she feels that she is being acclaimed on the car again.

“I want her to drive her racing car,” said Stewart about their family business. “So when she is ready and whenever she wants, I want her to do the racing team herself.

“So and don’t expect anything to change before the end of the year. But again, it will be her decision when she wants to go back in the car.”

While he made the media rounds on Tuesday, Stewart said in a session with reporters that they are still trying to find out what his role will be when Testtt Tests Summary Racing. He is sure he wants to race against his wife. However, the team has separate cars for them baking their size differences, the chair and how the footboxes are placed.

“We started with those conversations about what life likes in the coming years in the car. And one of the most important variables in her comparison is, how does that Lok find behind the wheel of a car?” Said Stewart.

“So we try to sort that out.”

What Stewart does not have to find out is how to win. In Drag Racing the car is a large part of the comparison. And Stewart said it was frustrating, so he bumped the 2024 season. He said his team fought against the possibility of refining the car and that when making the adjustments, they caused them about the original problem and new problems.

“I have never been in a form of motorsport that it took so long to fight to win and win a race,” said Stewart. “But again, it makes sense if you make you 30 picent of the comparison, not 70.

“To be honest, that part is really frustration.”

Four events in the 2025 season Stewart is in second place in the rankings. However, he does not let himself be thought about winning the regular Nhra season.

“We are second in points, not because we have the fastest car, but because we have been there, and we are [advancing out of] Rounds, “said Stewart.

“We have to stay the course. We still have a long way to go to get the speed.

What the future entails even more, Stewart excluded a few things.

He does not return to an Indycar, no matter how difficult people try to convince him. Fans have begged him to have another chance to win the Indianapolis 500, a race he did not win during his Indycar career.

“The last time I was in an Indycar was 2001,” said Stewart. “So now more than 20 years, to go and even think that I will be competitive, is in my opinion very unrealistic.

“Do I feel that I could make the race and have a solid show? I feel that I have that input to give the team to help … to have a winning car.

“I have already received enough participation prices from Indy.”

And he will not take Nascar as a team owner again. His NHRA program is factory sport by Dodge, which is deep in the process of starting a program in Nascar’s Truck Series.

“I have AWM, I will do everything I can to help them,” said Stewart, what Stewart-Haas Racing stopped the activities after last season. “Of course now [the plans] are just a truck program [for Dodge]. … we will do everything to help. But I will never have a team in Nascar again. “
