Giants GM open to Travis Hunter playing offense and defense if they draft him

The New York Giants are open to allow Colorado striking Travis Hunter to play at Bush sides of the ball when they end up with the third general pick in next week’s NFL design on the cornerback and broad receiver.

Giants General Manager Joe Schoen said during the pre-Draft news conference of the team on Wednesday that “it would not be afraid to play him on both sides of the ball.” Hunter has made it clear that he is planning to play by defending and defense in the NFL, and recently told CBS Sports that his responsible for every Teram trying to limit him would “never be football again”.

Hunter not only won the Heisman -Trophy, the most prestigious prize in the University Football, he also took the Bednarik Award home as the best defending player of the University Football and was selected as the Associated Press Player of the Year. He coucht 96 passes for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns, while also making 35 tackles, 11 steps fall apart and select four.

That has NFL Scouts that assesses him as the best wide receiver and best cornerback available in this year’s design.

Yet playing Bown Ways at the university is much different from the NFL, where shoe said that the mental demands will burden more on Hunter as the physical toll when playing the majority of the snaps that take place during a game.

“The attack is difficult to learn and the defense on a weekly basic it is no longer true: ‘Hey, these are our basic games, this is basic defense and we are going to play Cover-3h against Kansas, we are going to play cover Nebraska,” said Schoen.

“So, how much can you deal with mentally where you can go outside and perform and they can rely on you to do your work?”

Hunter was in a recent interview with the AP that he was able to use the load.

“I would not doubt the child.” He has had that kind of production, the number of snaps that he plays in a game, does not sit down, passes, gets a drink of water and steps back on the field. “

The Giants are necessarily where Hunter will land, Eithher.

They have temporarily solidified their quarterback room with Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston and Tommy Devito on the Roster, but they can be interested in a long-term solution, such as Hunter’s teammate, Shedeur Sanders. They also go behind the upper edge Rusher, Abdul Carter from Penn State, who considered many the best player available throughout the concept.

“We feel that we are in a reasonably good place. There is still sub -work to do, sub loose ends we will attach,” said Schoen. “We will still do zooms with prospects. We are not there yet. But we are close by. I feel pretty good about where we are.”
