Justin Thomas ties RBC Heritage record with amazing Thursday round

The world of Golf is still trying to find out what happened during the last round of the Masters last week in Augusta. Living in a world where Rory Mcilroy should always feel career Grand Slam inevitable, but that it is the reality after all the time has been so shocking.

However, there is no rest for the tired and the PGA Tour is not only in action this week, but they are working on the fifth characteristic event of the season in the RBC heritage heritage. It is always interesting to see that at Hilton Head the masters immediately follow, because they all certainly wonder where that game was a week of Priod.

Maybe Justin Thomas asks himself those asking or maybe he is just satisfied with what he did. Thomas Ford an opening round 61 on Thursday that was clearly uncomfortable, but it was so good that it specifically corresponded to the record of 18 holes on the RBC heritage.

Justin Thomas is the same as the RBC Heritage 18-hole score record with 10-down 61 (David Frost/1994/R2, Troy Merritt/2015/R2).

Marks his sixth 61 on tour and only since R3 of the 2024 American Express (T3). Open with a career-best 59 on route to winning the Sony Open 2017 in …

The lack of wind made for ideal scoreconditions and at the time of this writing, before the first round is even over for the context, there are several players who post serious scores. There is a reason that this is after all a characteristic event.

Although Thomas does not have the results that Rory is doing this season, he is the year so far in itself. Thursday marked his second round of 62 or better this season and he is the only player so far this year to convert two of them.

It should be a fantastic tournament in Hilton head of this pace stays with.
