Beware of Counterfeit Medicines: CDSCO report reveals fake drugs, substandard

In a recent report of the National Quality Survey (NSQ), the Central Medicines Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) together with several state units has marked serious Conerns regarding the quality of pharmaceutical products in the market.

Random sampling duration made in March, it was found that a total of 131 medications were or lower quality. To the alarming, a sample collected from Western Bengal was identified as falsified.

In response to these findings, the authorities have issued immediate instructions for the destruction of the entire affected lot and a strict action directed in accordance with the regulatory norms. The CDSCO has urged consumers and interested parties to remain attentive and inform any suspicious or low quality medication.

This development highlights the urgent need for strengthened regulatory supervision and public awareness to guarantee the safety and effectiveness of AV medications by the public.
