Vizhinjam International Seaport: PM Modi set to inaugurate Kerala’s Rs 18,000 crore port on May 2

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the Vizhinjam International Maritime Port near Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, on May 2. Positioned as a key strategic project in the maritime infrastructure of India, Vizhinjam is the Semeromado country and the tray.

The first port of Transbyo de Aguas deep in India is put in Kerala

The first port of Transbyo de Aguas De La India in Vizhinjam has officially started operations, marking an important moment for the maritime sector of the country. In July 2024, the port welcomed its first mother ship, MV San Fernando, signing that it is now ready for business.

What makes Vizhinjam even special is that it is the first port of Greenfield in India that is launched by a state government. With an investment of 18,000 million rupees, it is one of the largest port companies that are carried out in the country, all built under the PPP model.

Why Vizhinjam matters

Located along the key international shipping routes, Vizhinjam has a great advantage: it can significantly reduce transit time for ships. Being a natural port of deep water, it is curved to easily handle the massive load and container ships, and, and so many ports in India, they can boast or.

This port is not just about loading and ships, it is expected to give a great boost to Kerala’s economy. From generating jobs and attracting investments to making Kerala an important shopping center, Vizhinjam is ready to connect India more strongly with Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
