New Rules From July 1: Car, motorcycle, other vehicle owners should know this update

The Department of Consumer Affairs has introduced new regulations under the rules of Legal Metrology (General), 2011, designed to improve road safety and guarantee equity in the application of the Traffic Law. As of July 1, 2025, these rules will grant the agencies for the application of the law and the law sufficient time to comply with the new standards.

Why is it important for vehicle owners?

Have you ever asked if a speed for speed was fair? These new rules are designed to ensure that it is only advanced by real violations. With these guidelines, only certified speed measurement devices will be used, precise already proof of roads on the roads. This means less unfair fines and more transparency in the way in which traffic laws are enforced. It can lead more confidently, knowing that speed limits are being verified with reliable technology.

Under new Rals, all radar -based speed measurement devices must be verified and approved to meet certain technical standards. This ensures that they work well throughout the weather and cannot be manipulated. These rules follow international standards such as Oiml R 91 and were made with police suggestions, companies and consumption groups.

For the police, these rules are a great step forward. With calibrated and standardized radars, they can broadcast more precise fines, which could help generate public trust in the system.

Good news for radar manufacturers

These new regulations also provide advantages for industries, partly radar manufacturers. Following world standards such as IOML R 91, the rules offer a clear set of guidelines for companies. This helps them innovate and follow the law in India, while facilitating that Indian products compete in international markets by guaranteeing good quality and performance.

Towards smarter, safer roads

These devices, which use Doppler Radar technology, must now comply with specific technical and safety standards. They must work in different climatic conditions and be resistant to manipulation. All this is part of the Plan of India to use more technology and data in traffic management and make roads safer.
