The records will be published with limited editors for privacy reasons, such as to protect the social security number, he said.
Gabbard said an additional 50,000 pages of files related to Robert F. Kennedy’s murder Problems of the CIA and the FBI stores were discovered for documents that had not turned the legs to the files. The agencies are working to make these documents available and will continue to search the Government’s facilities to obtain more information to the National Intelligence Director.
What did the RFK files say?
The documents published so far seem to include the Department of Justice and the FBI notes, as well as photos of evidence collected during the research on the murder of Robert F. Kennedy and the cut of the news reports. Some scanned records are difficult to read, as are hand written notes included in the section.
Some of Sirhan’s apparent notes views by CBS News include messages such as “RFK must be eliminated as her brother” and “my determination to eliminate RFK is becoming more [and] More than an unwavering launch obsession. “Other Sirhan notes that express hate for Robert F. Kennedy have been publicly known for decades and were referenced in their trial.
Also in the traffic jams: an FBI memorandum of 1968 that sacrificed a Sirhan evaluation, including that it fell from a horse and suffered a head injury in 1966, and the behavior of family members changed remarkably later.
An FBI memorandum of June 12 describes Robert f. Kennedy’s widow, Ethel Kennedy, the “distressed” reactions to the shooting, with an ambulance worker she told her, said: “Keep your hands away at the Camera Hospital of TV New.
Some of the documents detail the interviews of eyewitnesses about Sirhan and the shooting. Some of these records mention long -standing conspiracy theories about the murder. There are references to witnesses who see a woman with a polka dot dress or someone shouting “we shoot him”, which appears in theories about the shooting, although other witnesses say they did not detect anyone who coincides with the description.
What could the new RFK files reveal?
It is not clear what new information about the murder of 1968 could arise from the revelations, several experts said in CBS news Before the documents were published. The murder of Robert F. Kennedy was investigated and processed mainly by local officials in Los Angeles, and the archives of that investigation, together with many records of a parallel investigation of the FBI, have been publicly with fewwemab, it is not clear if other federal agencies have records linked to the murder.
The administration has also promised to publish files on the 1968 murder of Reverendo Martin Luther King, and published Troy of declassified Archives on the 1963 murder of President John F. Kennedy in March.
Why did Trump release the RFK files, and RFK Jr. is involved?
Trump ordered his administration to review the records on King, John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy at the end of January. At the April 10 cabinet meeting, National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard said the King and Robert F. Kennedy archives would be ready in a matter of days, including what he described as decades documents that “have never scanned or seen legs before.”
“Almost 60 years after the tragic murder of Senator Robert F. Kennedy, the American people will have, for the first time, the opportunity to review the federal government’s investigation thanks to President Trump’s leadership,” Gabbard said. “My team feels honored that the president gave us to lead the declassification efforts and that a light of the truth has been shining for a long time. I extend my deepest thanks for Bobby Kennedy and the support of their families.”
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said he is “very grateful” for the launch.
The Secretary of Health, who was 14 when his father was killed, has shown interest in the case for years, doubting the conclusion that Sirhan was responsible for his father’s murder. Breaking with many of his brothers, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. supported Sirhan 2021 probation request after meeting with Sirhan in prison.
Who killed RFK?
Sirhan was arrested shortly after the murder of 1968, which took place at the Ambassador hotel, while Robert F. Kennedy ran for president and convicted of murder. He admitted to having killed the senator and has linked him to Israel’s support by Robert F. Kennedy, thought of other points, has denied responsibility or said he could not remember the incident.
Sirhan’s probation requests have been repeatedly rejected. The California probation board supported its 2021 offer for early launch, but California Gavin Newsom governor annulled its decision.
Even so, the case has attracted waves of public care, since some critics, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr., claim that Sirhan did not fire the fatal shots or other parts were involved in the murder. The skeptics generally cite problems with the testimony of eyewitnesses or the supposed presence of additional bullets in the crime scene, although other researchers have backed the opinion that Sirhan acted alone.
