Kesari 2 Box Office Collection Day 1: Akshay Kumar’s courtroom drama sees decent start with Rs 7.84 crore

The long -awaited drama of the period of the Akshay Kumar Kesari court chapter 2 opened at RS 7.84 Crore Nett at the national box office on Friday, manufacturers announced on Saturday. While it is not its greatest inauguration, the film has been better than its recently launches Khel Khel Mein and Sarfira, which achieved RS 5.05 million rupees and RS 2.5 million rupees respectively on their first day. However, it still traces behind Sky Force, the January launch of Akshay that roared with RS 12.25 million rupees on day 1 and RS 62.25 million rupees on its weekend of debut.

Released under the banner of Dharma Productions and directed by the debutante director Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari Chapter 2 was promoted as a powerful history of justice and truth. The production house shared a poster on social networks revealing the opening day figures, subtitled: “A film about justice. A trith trip. A triumph at the box office.”

A battle of the court rooted in history

The film, a spiritual successor of Akshay’s success in 2019, Kesari, changes focus from the battlefield to the courtroom. It is based on the case that shook the Empire, a book written by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat, which documented a critical legal battle that was fought in the 1920s. Akshay portrays Sir C Sankaran Nair, a lawyer who faced the British empire on atrocities committed the duration of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

R Madhavan plays Neville McKinley, a lawyer who defends the British establishment, while Ananya Panday makes his debut in the period drama such as Ner’s co-colunel, Dilet Gill.

This film also marks the first collaboration between Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan, adding more star value to the court drama.

With the weekend, all eyes are now in itself the strong feeling from mouth and audience will help increase the performance of the movie at the box office.
