Warholm, Benjamin, Dos Santos set for 300m hurdles clash in Oslo

Obstacle giants face the small distance, while British such as Amber Anning, Daryll Neita, Dina Asher-Smith, George Mills and Max Burgin are also in action on Thursday

Nine reigning Olympic champions and seven British form compete at the Bislett Games in Oslo on Thursday (June 12).

Such are the quality of alignments, it is difficult to predict which will be the highlight of this Diamond League meeting.

But possibly the organizers have left the best until the end, since they have placed the obstacle clash of 300 meters between Karsten Warholm, the Olympic champion Rai Benjamin and the world champion of 2022, Alison Dos Santos, at the end of the calendar.

The trio will be desperate to claim victory, but the world record of 33.05, which was established by Warholm in China in April, is also vulnerable.

The British Distance Corridor George Mills is part of a 5000m strong field directed by Hagos Gebrhiwet and Yomif Kejelcha de Ethiopia.

Last year, Gebrhiwet recorded 12: 36.73, he only lost the world record of Joshua Cheptegei of 12: 35.36.

Mills is currently found No.4 in the ranking of all the United Kingdom with 12: 58.68 interior set last year. So, could the British record of Mo Farah or 12: 53.11 of 2011 fall?

The only disappointment is that Jakob Intrigtsen is not in the race, since it presents training after an Achilles injury.

Wanyonyi is one of the Olympic champions in Oslo, but the 800m corridor was hit in Rabat recently by Max Burgin, the British who marks a PB or 1: 43.34 behind the winner that day, Tshepiso Masalela or Botswana.

Masalela is not in Oslo, but Burgin and Wanyonyi are, in addition to Djamel Sedjati or Algeria and Gabriel Tual from France. Also attentive to the Irish Mark English, who won in Hengelo earlier this week in a PB or 1: 43.92.

Mondo Duplantis faces Sam Kendricks, Emmanouil Karalis and Ernest John Oprenea in the pole jump with the ultimate goal of improving the 6.27m world record that he established in Clermont-Ferrand in February.

The Dream Mile also has the British interest with Elliot Giles between the alignment together the world champion Timothy Cheruiyot, the gold medalist of the Commonwealth Olli Hoare, the ascent star Cameron Myers and Narve Gilje Nordas de Norway.

Dina Asher-Smith and Daryll Neita are in a female stacked of 100 meters that sees the Olympic champion Julien Alfred de Santa Lucía making her debut in 2025 at a distance.

Other British in Action include Amber Anning in the 400 meters of women and Elise Thorner in the 3000m obstacle career.
