2W exports turn positive after 2 years, Bajaj Auto registers highest export growth: SIAM data

With the revival in demand in international markets, two -wheeled exports of India saw a two -digit rebirth in the 2015 fiscal year. The Bajaj car, based in Pune, registered the greatest growth in exports to 13.31 percent, according to the data of the Indian car manufacturers (SIAM).

A 21.4 percent growth was recorded with 41,97,517 two -wheeled vehicles exported in fiscal year 2015, compared to 34.58,416 two -wheeled vehicles exported in fiscal year 2014.

According to Siam statistics, the total number of two -wheeled exports in fiscal year 23 decreased by 17.80 percent, while in fiscal year24, exports decreased by 5.3 percent. The data reveal that the TVs exported 10.89,748 units, while Hero exported 2,89,668 two wheels in fiscal year 2015.

Automobile experts have indicated that the increase in exports can be attributed to the budgeted products portfolio offered by the manufacturers of original Indian equipment (OEM).

“The strong increase in two -wheeled exports shows that demand is being bouncing in key markets such as Africa and Latin America.
