Aiadmk leader, Edappadi K Palantwami, made his first comments on the partys alliance with BJP on Wednesday for the surveys of the Tamil Nadu 2026 assembly that establish doubts about the possible association between the two parties.
Speaking to people from the media outside the state assembly, Palaniswami declared that if the NDA wins the assembly elections, he won a coalition government. “You are interpreting Shah’s statements,” he told reporters. “There is no coalition government, but the Aiadmk-BJP alliance will form the government,” he said (in Tamil), raising doubts about whether it will be an external support scenario of the National BJP.
On Thursday, when asked about the opposite statements between Shah and Palaniswami in the formation of the coalition government, the newly elected president of Tamil Nadu BJP, Nainar Ninar, Ninar, told the newspapers that the alliance was announced by the high command and any other.
He spent only one week after the BJP-ASDMK announced his alliance for the surveys of the Tamil Nadu Assembly of 2026, but the difference in the statements of the two leaders and their interpretations has lit the WET issue that the Alliance will survive.
Interior Minister Amit Shah, at a press conference on April 11, said the two parties would face the 2026 assembly surveys under Palaniswami’s leadership, and would be part of the government.
To a question about whether the BJP will be part of the government if the NDA wins the elections, Shah said they will form the government together. However, Hey later said that the exchange of seats and government formation will then be determined jointly by leaders from both parties.
