The central government said on Friday that its gross direct tax collections were located in a provisional RS 27,02,974 million rupees during financial year 2024-25, which ended on March 31, 2025. That marked an increase of 15.6 percent over their collections: direct taxes include taxes on income and corporate taxes, on its kitty the previous year.

Its net collections increased by 13.6 percent to a provisional rupe 22.26,231 million rupees, according to official notification.

Direct tax reimbursements, or the return of excess money paid for income tax assessments compared to its real installments, increased 26 percent to RS 4.76,743 million rupees. In fiscal year24, real reimbursements were recorded at RS 3.78.255 million rupees.

Of the net collections of RS 22.26,231 million rupees, RS 9.86,719 million rupees were collected as a corporate tax, RS 11.82,875 million and RS Securited Families) and (STT), according to notification.

The Income Tax Department, under the Ministry of Finance, records and releases official data on direct taxes, such as corporate tax and income tax.
