The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) in Thorsday issued a severe warning to coaching centers to avoid famous ads and unfair commercial practices as the focus on the results of the iIT-JEE exam.

The consumer rights guard has advised the Coaching institutes to strictly follow the 2024 guidelines established for such entities.

According to an official statement, coaching centers must ensure that their representations are “precise, clear and free of famous claims.”

The CCPA emphasized that the ads should transparently unravel the key details, including the names, ranges, types of students’ courses and if the courses were paid.

The authority has explicitly warned the training centers against obtaining “guarantees of guaranteed success” and forced that the renunciations are prominently shown in the same source size as other important information.

The CCPA already has a significant compliance action in this sector, issuing 49 notices and imposing sanctions of total RS 77.60 Lakh in 24 rape training centers. These centers have a leg aimed at suspending deception ads and unfair commercial practices.

The previous CCPA actions have been aimed at training centers that offer services for several competitive exams, including UPSC CSE, IIT-JEE, NEET, RBI and NABARD, among others.
