Indigo and Akasa Air transferred their flight operations to terminal 1 on Tuesday from Terminal 2, which has been temporarily closed for maintenance work.
An official said Tuesday that flight operations are normal.
Now, T1 and T3 are operational at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), operated by Dial, in the national capital. The airport has four tracks, and one of the issues is closed for maintenance work.
Only Indigo and Akasa Air were having flights from T2, which was built almost 40 years ago.
T2 flight operations have been completely moved to T1, said the official.
On Monday, Indigo said he has proactive measures tasks to ensure that customers are well informed about the change in the terminals.
Akasa Air, on Monday, said his teams were working diligently to guarantee a perfect transition from our T2 to T1 operations.
On March 20, Dial said that the extended T1 can accommodate 40 million passengers, and T3 can handle 45 million passengers annually. T2 has an annual capacity to handle 15 million passengers.
The Secretary of Civil Aviation, Vumlunang Vualnam, said Monday T3 and the T1 may handle passenger traffic and emphasize that it is unlikely to be constant due to the closure of T2.
IGIA handles around 1,300 flight movements daily.
