The employee forecast fund, or EPF, is a retirement savings account in which both the employer and the employees transfer a percentage of the monthly salary of an employee. The accumulated amount can be used to retire or after changing work. This scheme is available for all salaried employees.
There are several ways to verify your EPF balance. You can consult through SMS, giving a lost call, the UMANG application or the EPFO website. You only need to have a UAN (universal account number), telephone number and Internet connection.
Here is a step -by -step guide to verify your PF balance in different ways.
1. See the PF balance on the EPFO website
- Go to www.epfindia.gov.in.
- Click ‘For employees’ in the ‘Our Services’ section.
- Choose the option ‘Passbook of Member’ in the ‘Services’ menu.
- On the login screen, enter your UAN, password and the Captcha code.
- Once you log in, you can see your PF balance and transaction history.
2. Verify the PF balance through the loss call
– Mark 996044425 from your registered mobile phone number.
– The call will automatically end and receive an SMS with its PF details.
3. Verify the PF balance through SMS
- Write an SMS in this format: EPFOHO UAN ENG.
- Replace ‘ENG’ with the first three letters of your favorite language.
- Send the SMS to 7738299899.
4. See the PF balance on the UMANG website
– Open the UMAG website.
– Look for EPFO services and log in with your UAN and password.
– See your book PF Passbook and the history of transactions.
5. Verify the PF balance through the UMANG application
- Download the UMANG application from Play Store or App Store.
- Register with your mobile phone number.
- Confirm your mobile phone number using OTP.
- Open the application and touch the 3 horizontal lines in the upper left corner.
- Go to the service directory and seek EPFO.
- Select see Passbook and log in with your credentials.
