The tariffs implemented by President Donald Trump were larger than the highest estimates prepared by the Federal Reserve in advance, Fed President Powell said Wednesday.
“The tariffs are bigger than I expected, certainly larger than we expected, only in our upward case,” Powell said in response to a question at the Chicago economic club. (Dan Burns report)
