Offering a respite to Heat travelers, the Chennai division of Southern Railway on Saturday presented the first EMU train service with air conditioning between Chennai Beach and Chengalpattu.

The Rake AC Modern AC is equipped with passenger facilities such as automatic doors, pins information systems, CCTV cameras and well -marked entry/output points.
The first AC EMU left Chennai beach at 7 am on Saturday. “Train No.49003/49004 and Train No.49005/49006 Chennai Beach – Chengalpattu – EMU services conditioned by Chennai Beach’s air communicated in both directions, except Sundays,” says a statement.
The rate between Chennai Beach and Chengalpattu will be ₹ 105.
