Gurugram-Pataudi-Rewari National Highway: After 2 years of delay, will 45-km-long NH-352W be completed by December?

The long -awaited 352W road, which links Gurugram, Pataudi and Rewari, will now be completed in December this year, authorities said. Originally established for its completion by March 2023, the project faced several obstacles and design changes that drove.

This 45 km section is being developed by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) at an estimated cost of around 1,000 million rupees. From the sector-84 on the Dwarka highway, the road will pass through the Wazirpur village before connecting to Rewari through Gurugram-Pataudi Road. To relieve traffic movement, 25 high steps and underground steps are being built along the route. Once completed, trips for thousands of residents and travelers are expected to improve significantly.

At present, about 66 percent of the road construction work has been completed.

Obstacles slow down progress

One of the main bottlenecks has the presence of six high voltage electricity cables along a six km section between the Dwarka highway and the Wazirpur village. Four of these belong to Haryana Vidyut Pasran Nigam, one to DDAL, while the Bhakra Beas Management Board has another high voltage line in the area. While efforts are activated to change these lines, an suspension order from the Superior Court of Punjab and Harryana is delaying the elimination of the BBMB line, which makes the work stop.

In addition to the challenges, Haryana Shari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) had built a rain drainage-84 sector in Gurugram, which must now be demolished to give way to the service road. However, demolition work has been pending, further delaying construction.

In addition, an underground step has been planned under the railway line in Pataudi, but the NHAI is still waiting for the authorization of the railway department. Only after the approach will be granted, construction will begin.

National Highway 352W will be ready for December this year: Nhai

Another key component is a high step that will connect NH-352W to the Dwarka highway. At the moment, only 40 percent of the high passage construction has been completed. Once in place, traveling between the Dwarka and Pataudi or Rewari highway will become much softer and faster.

“The 352W National Highway will be ready for December of this year. There are some obstacles in its construction. These obstacles are being eliminated,” said Prakash Tiwari, Nhai manager.
