The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Saturday that the Kailash Manasarov Yatra 2025 takes place between June and August, marking the resumption of the venerated pilgrimage after a three-19.
Requests for participation are now open on the official website (kmy.gov.in), with the selection that will be carried out through a fair process, generated by computer, random and balanced by gender. This year, the Yatra will accommodate five lots of 50 pilgrims, each who travel through the Uttarakhand Lipuleakh pass and 10 lots of 50 pilgrims that cross the Sikkim pass through Nathu.
Since 2015, the entire application and selection procedure has been compensated, eliminating the need for applicants to send letters or faxes.
Instead, comments options available on the portal can be used for consultations, observations and suggestions. MEA has focused that the digital system guarantees transparency and efficiency through the selection process.
The pilgrimage will resume official on June 30, 2025, organized jointly by the Government of Uttarakhand and the Ministry of External Affairs. According to an official launch, the special efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami have led to the restoration of the Yatra, which makes the route more accessible.
The statement indicated that the Adi Kailash Yatra initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has contributed significantly to facilitate the way for Kailash Manasarov Yatra. The trip will continue once the traditional route through the Lipuleekh pass in the Pithoragarh district.
The broad discussions of the safe behavior of Yatra were held earlier this week at the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi. According to the statement, it was decided that the Kailash Manarovar Yatra-2025 will be operated by Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam. The trip will begin from Delhi, with pilgrims traveling through the route of the Lipuleekh pass.
The first group of pilgrims are expected to enter China through the Lipulekh pass on July 10, 2025, while the final group is expected to become India on August 22, 2025. Each team will depart from Delhi, stopping during the night in Tanakpur and Dharchula, Foldown, Nabhidang (Taklakot) before crossing China.
After the sacred Kailash Darshan, the return trip will involve stops at the night in Bundi, Chaukori and Almora, before concluding in Delhi. The full trip of each group will cover 22 days.
The health controls for all the Yatris will be carried out initially in Delhi and, subsequently, in Gunji (Pithoragarh) with the assistance of the Indo-Tibetan border police (ITBP). The MEA has urged all applicants to carefully follow the guidelines and updates provided on the official website to guarantee a pilgrimage experience without problems. (ANI)
