A large fire broke out in the office building of the Configuration Directorate in southern Mumbai in the early hours of Sunday, and there were no casualties in the incident, authorities said.
The fire exploded in the Kaiser-I-Hind building on the Ballard estate around 2.31 am, they said.
The authorities said the fire, which began on the fourth floor of the five -story building that houses the office of the of, broke out for hours and was controlled.
A senior police officer said that a short circuit had caused the fire, and furniture, cabinets and electrical installations were damaged.
He said the police teams were in the place and directed Panchnama, and that additional investigation was being carried out.
Mumbai Fire Bridge improved the fire at level III around 4.17 am, which is usually consulted an important fire.
A fire brigade official said that eight firefighters, six springs, water tank trucks and other equipment were deployed to fight the fire.
The official said that several documents and equipment are feared within the office have been damaged.
