
In a unique initiative, Central Railway (CR) has installed an ATM machine (ATM) aboard the Mumbai-Manmad Pancavati Express based on trial.
The Central Railroad (CR) has installed an ATM machine (ATM) aboard the Mumbai-Manmad Panchavati Express in an experimental basic, the authorities said.
The ATM, provided by a private bank, has been installed in a car coach with air conditioning of the Daily Express service and will be made available to passengers shortly, they said.
“The ATM has installed aboard the Panchavati Express in Experimental Basic,” CR Public Relations Director Swapnil Nila said Tuesday.
According to rail officials, the ATM has put itself in a cubicle in the back of the coach, a space previously used as an impromptu pantry. A shutter has been provided to guarantee safety and accessibility while the train is in motion, they said.
The coach’s necessary modification was held in the Manmad rail workshop, said the official.
The Panchavati Express, which operates daily between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai and Manmad Junction in the neighboring district of Nashik, completes its trip in a way at approximately 4.35 hours.
It is one of the popular trains on the route due to the moment of the pact for the interurban trip.
