The president of the Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell, said on Wednesday that the commercial policies pursued by the Trump administration will create challenges so that the Central Bank meets their work and inflation mandates this year.
The new commercial policies that represent a significant change, Powell said in an appearance in Chicago.
“It is likely that the effects of that will take away the objectives, so it is likely not to be inemployed as the economy slows down in all likelihood, and it is likely that inflation will increase as tariffs find their way” in the economy, Powell said.
