The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said Sunday that he expected to make a decision about Iran very quickly, after both countries said they had “positive” and “constructive” conversations in Oman on Saturday and agreed to replicate this week.
Trump, who has threatened military action if no agreement is reached on the arrest of Iran’s nuclear program, told journalists aboard Air Force One with Iran’s advisors and expected a quick decision. There are no more details.
“We will make a decision about Iran very quickly,” he said.
Axios cited two sources with knowledge of the problem by saying that a second round of nuclear conversations between the United States and Iran would take place next Saturday in Rome.
The conversations held in Oman on Saturday were the first between Iran and a Trump administration, including the first mandate of the president of the United States 2017-2021. The authorities said they are in a “productive, calm and positive atmosphere.”
