Walmart-backed Phonepe to run-up $15 Bn valuation for IPO

Before his IPO debut, Walmart, backed by Phonepe, has turned his name “Phonpe Private Limited” to “Phonpe Limited, according to a Roc of Tofler presentation. The digital payment firm had started previous plans to launch OPI.

The presentation of ROC declared that, “after the approval of the company’s conversion to a limited public company by the MCA, the name of the company where it appears outside the offices, and in the books and documents, the letterheads, the commercial documents, the letters, the notices, the official publications or the communications, the website and any other document) of the company are read as’ limited phonepe.”

Phonepe was the first company to change his home from Singapore to India. According to its annual fiscal year24, the telephone group reported an income of ₹ 5,064 million rupees, marking an increase of 74 percent with respect to fiscal year 23. its loss also strengthened only in ₹ 1,996 million rupees.

The company is among the list of new companies, which includes Zepto, Lenskart and others, which are aimed at the list in India exchanges.

Phonepe’s most recent financing round was in May 2023, when he raised $ 850 million. The company appointed JP Morgan, Kotak Mahindra Capital, Morgan Stanley and Citi as advisors for their next opi.
