The Department of Meteorology of India (IMD) has predicted clear skies in Delhi. Meanwhile, heavy rains whipped Bhubaneswar in Odisha, on Friday (April 18) in the morning. IMD predicted rains in Jammu and Kashmira, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh.

Minimum and maximum temperatures of Delhi

The city recorded a minimum temperature of 25.6 degrees Celsius this morning, April 18, according to the weather office.

The maximum temperature is expected to settle around 39 degrees Celsius.

There have been no major changes in minimal temperatures and a slight increase in maximum temperatures on the doors of Delhi in the last 24 hours, the IMD said.

Air quality was recorded in the ‘poor’ category.

Heavy rains in Odisha

On Thursday, the Bhubaneswar weather center predicted that the city would continue to see partially cloudy skies on April 19 and 20. On April 21, the weather is expected to be clear.

The Meteorological Center had issued warnings of isolated thunderstorms for the districts, including Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Malkangiri, Jajpur, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack and few other districts. A yellow alert (isolated storm warning) for Korapur and Malkangiri for April 19 has been issued.

Uttarakhand climate

In addition to Odisha, the northern state of Uttarakhand has also been warned or stormy winds. It is likely that the thunderstorm, accompanied by lightning, occurs in isolated places in some places in Uttarakhand, including Bageshwar, Chamoli, Dehradun, Punchoragarh, Rudra Prayag, Tehri Garhwal, Uttar Kashi in the next 24 hours, according to the meteorological department on Friday.

Meanwhile, the IMD had predicted the rain in several parts of Himachal Pradesh between April 18 and 21 due to a strong incoming western disturbance.

According to the IMD, a strong western disturbance is expected to affect the State, resulting in light to moderate rains in most regions and heavy rains at higher altitudes.

Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal

“The isolated rain together with the thunderstorm and the racious winds (speed of 30-40 kmph) are also likely to be the adjacent plains of the northwest of India from April 18 to 20,” said the IMD.

Rajasthan and Gujarat climate

Meanwhile, Gujarat and Rajasthan are likely to witness a heat or severe heat wave until April 18.
