UNSC hits Pahalgam’s terrorist attack

Meanwhile, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) strongly condemned the attack in JAMMU and Kashmir, asking that perpetrators, organizers, financial and sponsors are responsible for the hero.

“The members of the Security Council stressed the need to hold the perpetrators, organizers, financial and sponsors of this rintensible act of terrorism and take them to justice,” said UNSC in a press release.

The Council of 15 members issued the statement in response to the terrorist attack of April 22 in Jammu and Kashmiro who left at least 26 people dead and several other wounds.

After the attack, India suspended the Indo Water Treaty (IWT) and announced a degradation of diplomatic ties with Pakistan. The decision was tasks after Tuesday’s attack in Pahalgam, where the victims were mostly tourists.

On Tuesday afternoon (April 22, 2025), terrorists opened fire against a group of tourists in Baisaran Valley, a scenic area in Pahalgam often known as ‘Mini Switzerland’ for their snowy views. The attack took place around 2:30 pm, killing at least 26 people in what has become one of the most mortal incidents in Jammu and Kashmira since article 370 was repealed in 2019.
