From ‘nightclub’ to eco-friendly gyms, there’s been no shortage of niche work-out clubs muscling into the space in recent years. The latest entrant: a five-star fitness club for C-suite executives.

Currently under construction, gym operator Fitness First is gearing up to launch a 17,000 square foot, invite-only gym in Singapore’s central business district in the second half of 2015.

The $9.5 million Gravity club, which will take just 999 members, promises to deliver a “luxury wellness experience” with highly personalized fitness and health programs.

“Gravity will set new standards in fitness management in Asia. Serving as the hub for innovation, Gravity will lead the evolution of products and services across the Fitness First Group,” Simon Flint, CEO of Fitness First Asia said in a statement.

On top of personal trainers, members will have access to visiting health practitioners offering nutrition programs, personalized vitamin supplements and alternative therapies.

The gym has also developed a mobile app for members to track the progress of their health and fitness goals and schedule appointments for health treatments.

The cost to become a member: a 600 Singapore dollar ($448) monthly fee on top of a 3,000 Singapore dollar ($2,244) one-time joining cost.

Apart from being a gym, Flint hopes it will double-up as a casual venue for executives to network.

The space, which will be open from 6am to 11pm, will have private work booths and video-conference equipped meeting rooms to cater to those juggling a busy schedule.

Singapore was chosen as the testing-ground for the concept given its position as a wealthy financial hub, says Flint.

“We believe that Singapore is an ideal launch pad for Gravity, and our investment bears testament to Singapore’s leading position as the magnet for new, innovative businesses and brands,” Flint said.

“As executives here and across the region increasingly recognize that a healthy, balanced lifestyle is key to peak performance, the growth opportunities for Gravity are strong as we look to expand further across Asia in the future,” he said.
