The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have announced that it has shortened the recommended isolation and the quarantine period for people with COVID-19 to five days, Ifhesintomatic and if people can use a mask around others.
These updates are recommended as the OMICRON variant continues to spread through the United States and reflects current science about when and how long a person is more infectious. Emerging information with the OMICRON variant shows that most SARS-COV-2 transmissions occur early in the course of the disease, usually in one or two days before the start of COVID-19 symptoms and two or three days later. The new recommendations of the CDC for the general population mean that asymptomatic people who positively give an isolation of May five days after the test if they can continue to mask consistently and correctly for five more days to minimize the risk of infecting others. Infected people who cannot follow the orientation of the mask after five days, for example, young children must remain isolated for 10 days after giving positive.
In addition, the CDCs are updating the recommended quarantine period for those exposed to COVID-19. For people who are not vaccinated or who are more than six months after their second dose of HRNM vaccine (Pfizer or Modern) or more than two months after their vaccine Johnson and Johnson and is not yet the quarantine mass of five by five by five by five by five by five by five for five for five for five for five additional days.
If a five -day quarantine for vaccinated, not yet driven, people are not feasible, it is imperative that an exhibition person Use a well tight mask At all times, when around others for 10 days after the exhibition. People who have received their reinforcement shot do not need to quarantine after an exhibition, but they must wear a mask for 10 days after the exhibition.
For all exposed, the states of the CDC that best practices would also include a test for SARS-COV-2 on the fifth day after the exhibition. If symptoms occur, individuals should immediately put quarantine until a negative test confirms that their symptoms are not attributable to COVID-19.
Last week, the percentage of positivity in Covid-19 tests in Alabama has more than duplicated to 22.1 percent with new duplicate cases, and all but six counties at a high level of community transmission. ADPH urges all Alabamians eligible for the age to continue following the recommendations to be vaccinated and 16 years of age and more are driven to reduce serious diseases, hospitalization and death. According to the CDC, the data from South Africa and the United Kingdom show that the effectiveness of the vaccine against two doses of an RNM vaccine is approximately 35 percent. A COVID-19 vaccine reinforcement dose restores the effective infection vaccine to 75 percent.
Vaccination remains the best way to protect itself and others and reduce the impact of COVID-19 on our communities in the light of recent studies that show that previously widely monoclonal antibody treatments are not effective against the omincon.
The definitions of isolation and quarantine are the following. Isolation It is related to Beavior after confirmed infection. The isolation for five days followed by using a well -adjusted mask will minimize the risk of extending the virus to others. Quarantine It refers to the time after exposure to virus or close contact with some acquaintances for having COVID-19.
